Lana Del Rey’s much-anticipated album The Right Person Will Stay won’t hit shelves on May 21 as originally planned. The singer has yet to announce a new release date, but she’s confirmed the record won’t drop this month.

In a now-deleted social media post that rippled across news outlets and the internet, Del Rey also revealed that The Right Person Will Stay is no longer the album’s title. A fresh name is in the works, though she’s keeping details under wraps for now.

This isn’t the first shift for the project. Initially titled Lasso and slated for a fall 2024 release, the album was reimagined when Del Rey’s creative spark veered away from country toward southern gothic vibes, a pivot she shared in October. By November, she unveiled the new title and May release date—now scrapped.

On April 11, Del Rey gave fans a taste of what’s coming with the single «Henry, Come On», set to feature on the album. She’s also teased a follow-up track, «Blue Bird», due out soon. The singer hinted that its release might bring more news about the record’s future, and she’s already shared a snippet of the «Henry, Come On» music video online.

Her last album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, arrived in March 2023 to critical praise but left empty-handed at the Grammys despite five nominations. The snub sparked a firestorm among fans, who flooded the Grammys’ social media with outrage. Here’s hoping Del Rey’s next chapter fares better.

Beyond music, 2024 kept Del Rey in the headlines for her personal life. In September, the 39-year-old tied the knot with tour guide Jeremy Dufrene, reportedly either 49 or 56. She didn’t publicize the wedding, but leaked ceremony photos stirred buzz online. While some fans questioned her choice, others rallied behind her, insisting her happiness matters most. Soon after, Del Rey called out intrusive fans and stalkers, lamenting drones tailing the newlyweds and disrupting their peace.
