Yasmine Hamdan - Hon هون

Yasmine Hamdan - Hon هون

"Hon" is the new track by Beirut-born, Paris-based producer, singer and songwriter Yasmine Hamdan. Co-written with Palestinian poet Anas Alaili and co-produced with Marc Collin, "Hon" offers a poignant reflection on a “tiny land with a gaping wound,” capturing a digital-age diaspora perspective: personal yet universally relatable—witnessing from afar the vulnerability of loved ones facing violence and feeling its deep imprint on the soul. The song encapsulates the album’s narrative, reflecting on loss, hope, and Yasmine’s unbreakable bond with her homeland, Lebanon.

A Paris-Beirut dialogue inspired the video for "Hon". Directed by Beirut-based visual artist Khalil and co-written with Hamdan, it merges Méliès-inspired techniques with handcrafted, frame-by-frame stop motion. The video explores the themes of turmoil and resurrection through vivid, kaleidoscopic metaphors. Renowned for her pioneering work with her former band Soapkills and her acclaimed solo career, Yasmine continues to push the boundaries of pop, experimental, electronic, and pan-Arabic music.
