Miley Cyrus has lifted the curtain on «Something Beautiful», the lead single and video from her forthcoming album of the same name, slated to hit the airwaves on May 30. Alongside it, she’s shared a visual for another track, «Prelude».

Since her 2020 release «Plastic Hearts» and a viral cover of Blondie’s «Heart of Glass», Cyrus has been diving headfirst into rock territory. Fans and online voices alike have cheered her on, noting how her voice seems tailor-made for the genre. With «Something Beautiful», she’s doubling down on that sonic shift, drawing inspiration from Pink Floyd’s iconic «The Wall» (1979).

The «Something Beautiful» video was co-directed by Cyrus herself, alongside Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter—both of whom teamed up with her for the «Used To Be Young» clip. Just hours before its debut, she gave fans a taste of what’s to come with the «Prelude» video.

The album «Something Beautiful» will feature 13 tracks, including the much-teased but yet-to-be-released «End of the World». Sean Everett, a producer known for his work with The Killers and country star Kacey Musgraves, took the helm for this project. To top it off, Cyrus has a companion film in the works, set to roll out in June—exact date still under wraps. Much like Pink Floyd’s «The Wall», which spawned the movie «Pink Floyd: The Wall» three years after its 1979 album debut in 1982, she’s weaving a cinematic thread into her vision.

Cyrus’s most recent album, «Endless Summer Vacation», landed in March 2023. It struck gold with «Flowers», a chart-topping smash that snagged her first-ever Grammys: Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
