CBZK - Duchota

CBZK, the genre-bending project that fuses hip-hop, industrial and black metal elements, have released their latest music video for the track "Duchota" (Polish for "Soulpression"). This is the third single to be released from the debut EP “Dybuctwo”, which will be self-released digitally on 11 April 2025.

The video premiered via Side-Line Magazine, watch “Duchota” here:

Following the premiere of their previous music video for "Płyty" on v13.net, CBZK continues to delve into the depths of human experience with "Duchota”. The lyrics paint a raw picture of a soul trembling in its core, desperate to break free from suffocating pressures. Lines like "The soul trembles in its core / It wants to break free / As the rain falls from the black clouds" and "Its suffocating and soulless call / Cut it all out" convey a powerful sense of inner turmoil and the desire for release.

The eerie soundscapes on “Dybuctwo” were birthed from a collaboration between Kopczak (Malconfort) and Fas (Sea Mosquito, Malconfort, Amaltheia). Formed in 2023 across the diverse landscapes of Sanok (Poland), Bristol (UK), and Crete (Greece), CBZK is a unique fusion of hip-hop, industrial and black metal. The project was created from half-forgotten techno loops, tremolo riffs and demented whispers, which resulted in an electronic expansion of the project members’ sonic realm.

“Dybuctwo” delves deep into the surreal and unsettling aspects of Subcarpathian identity in Poland, exploring themes of distant closeness, camaraderie, and the inevitability of passing. Drawing inspiration from small-town atmospheres, Kopczak and Fas crafted an industrial soundscape that weaves together hypnotic hip-hop and black metal phrases, jarring distortions and evocative field recordings.

The lyrics explore the everlasting tensions between resilience and hopelessness, passing and death, closeness and alienation. The CBZK lyrical realm, seemingly oneiric and allegorical, is a collage of past and present realities of Subcarpathia, weaving together personal stories, mores and regional folklore.

The band previously released the singles and music videos “Płyty” (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp) and  “W Głębi” (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and all other streaming platforms.)
