Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos Returns with "Otra representación de la realidad"

Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos is back with a new album, "Otra representación de la realidad" (Another Representation of Reality): twenty instrumental compositions inviting reflection on reality, the scientific method, and the limits of human perception.

Following "La música, el tiempo y la palabra" and "Adagio y despertar," the Spanish composer and physicist Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos presents his fascinating new record project: an instrumental album featuring 20 tracks, released on May 23rd. It aims to be a conscious bridge between two seemingly distant languages: the artistic representation of reality through music and the more rigorous representation of reality through science.

For Fernández Ramos, music is not just aesthetic expression; it becomes a means of inquiry and contemplation, a tool to explore what often eludes sensory perception. This new work stems from a viewpoint as poetic as it is scientifically rooted: that of a researcher who dedicates his life to studying matter at a subatomic level, and who in his free time "plays his violin"—a real instrument, but also a metaphor for his inner and scientific quest.

At the heart of the album is a fascinating yet unsettling premise: what we perceive is not reality itself, but a limited representation of it. Our senses cover only a tiny fraction of the existing physical spectrum; many of the particles that make up the cosmos remain invisible, intangible, yet they determine our existence. This profound awareness is reflected in the artist's compositions: pieces that evoke mystery, contemplation, and the search for meaning.

Musically, the work explores an instrumental territory rich in nuances and suggestions, where simplicity is never trivial and complexity is never an end in itself. It's a language that manages to touch emotional and intellectual chords, offering a layered listening experience: immediate for those who want to be carried away by the atmospheres, deeper for those who wish to read the dialogue between physics and philosophy, between perception and reality, between the notes.

In a world increasingly dominated by digital, social, and virtual representations, Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos's album invites us to rediscover slowness, doubt, and exploration. It is a call for deep listening, to momentarily suspend imposed certainties and open ourselves once again to mystery. Not to solve it, but to inhabit it, recognizing it as an essential part of our human condition.

The new album has been available on all digital platforms since May 23rd. A work that confirms the artist's vocation to transform music into a bridge between worlds: between the rigor of science and the freedom of art, between what we know and what still eludes us.

Biography:

Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos was born in 1971. He is currently a scientist working at CERN for a Spanish government research institution.

Music, running, and family/friends are his other passions. He has played the violin, run, and studied constantly since the age of 12. Imagination and creativity are essential and permeate all his activities and his life.

He loves philosophy and writing about any topic, but prefers to avoid consciously manipulating and hurting others, inspired by the scientific method. He also loves education, and playing with children is his passion. He enjoys popularizing science. Musically, his father, a music professional, taught him everything about theory, while practice comes when someone challenges him.

In 2024, he began an interesting collaboration with PaKo Music Records, hoping to bring his music to Italy and beyond.
