Virtanen describes "Inner Light / Outer Protest" as "the loudest and most hysterical song on the album". She adds that it "also has its own musicality, but it is very hostile, almost shouted to the crowd with a megaphone, it is cacophonous, abrasive noise Eastern Europe 1980 model, a crash zone, a wall of ice".
"Laudans Deum" is an eclectic and haunting collection, drawing from a rich tapestry of influences that span neofolk, dark ambient, death-industrial and the avant-garde.
Puppe Magnetik is the vision of Finnish artist Aina Virtanen, a classically trained musician who studied singing, violin, and piano at the prestigious Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin. After a period of personal struggle and a hiatus, Virtanen found solace and inspiration in the remote landscapes of Northern Finland, leading to the birth of Puppe Magnetik in 2022. Her work showcases exceptional vocal and technical abilities, creating a disturbing yet beautiful blend of experimental soundscapes and structured song formats.
The album is available as a limited edition vinyl LP, featuring a standard cover, a 30x30 insert, and a numbered sticker. The pressing will consist of 100 copies on Black Vinyl and 200 copies on Red Vinyl.
"Laudans Deum" is available to order via The Circle Music.
