Radiohead frontman Tom Yorke has unveiled a thoughtful song titled «Dialing In.» The musician penned the track for the Apple TV+ detective miniseries «Smoke,» starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett.

Yorke solely authored «Dialing In» and also served as one of its producers. The track's other producer is Sam Petts-Davies, who previously collaborated with Tom Yorke on the music for «Suspiria» (2018) and The Smile's albums «Wall of Eyes» (2024) and «Cutouts» (2024).

Some of Tom Yorke's fanbase may have already encountered the song, as the musician had previously performed «Dialing In» during his concerts, albeit under the title «Gawpers.» Dennis Lehane, the director of «Smoke,» expressed that working with Tom Yorke was a great honor for him, akin to collaborating with Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese. Lehane is a celebrated writer; Eastwood adapted his book «Mystic River» in 2003, and Scorsese directed the film adaptation of his novel «Shutter Island» in 2010. Here’s what the director further commented about Tom Yorke:

«Somehow, I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with living legends who have shaped my creative life. Tom is unequivocally one of them. Moreover, he took a basic concept I devised and delivered a song that perfectly embodies the show’s essence. It’s utterly captivating.»

This marks Yorke’s second track release in 2025. In May, the musician dropped the album «Tall Tales,» a collaboration with British electronic artist Mark Pritchard. The release was accompanied by an eponymous film directed by Jonathan Zawada.

The premiere of the series «Smoke» is scheduled for June 27th. The plot revolves around two detectives investigating a series of suspicious fires, aiming to identify and apprehend the arsonists. The show's trailer has already been released online.
