Love Ghost X SKOLD debut album

Love Ghost x SKOLD is the collaborative project of US indie/alt-rock maverick Love Ghost (Finnegan Bell) and Swedish industrial music legend Tim Skold (SKOLD, Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White). Having issued three singles to date, they have today released an eponymous debut album.

The thirteen song offering is available via the iconic US label Metropolis Records, who have enjoyed a long relationship with Skold. Mixing fire with brimstone, he has joined forces with Bell, forging the raw energy of grunge with the driving rhythms of industrial rock and taking us through an adrenaline-fuelled journey that Bell describes as "literally musical storytelling.”

"We very deliberately tried to not have a specific sound for this album and instead make music that is genuinely honest and pure in that sense,” explains Skold. “We both have stylings and character so we didn’t feel that was something that needed much attention. We instead focused on making a rad collection of songs that we felt are really cool. I think real and true diversity come from making sure you don’t stifle the raw creativity.”

“The music sounds like multiple universes coming together to create something unique and we are proud of that,” Bell concurs. “For me, writing is something that has always been so intuitive - like it clicks or sometimes it doesn't. But for this project, we just got into the studio and had really good chemistry. A lot of songs came from that. Sometimes Tim would have an idea or sometimes I would. It just felt like electricity. Every single time that we would get together, we would have a new idea and we would have a new song basically.”

Aside from releasing music as SKOLD, Tim Skold is known for his work as half of the duo Not My God (with Nero Bellum), KMFDM, Shotgun Messiah, Motionless in White and - especially - Marilyn Manson. In addition to being a full-fledged member of the latter, he also produced their no. 1 US album 'The Golden Age of Grotesque', celebrated hit single cover versions of 'Tainted Love' and 'Personal Jesus’, plus the controversial 'Eat Me, Drink Me' album.

Founded by vocalist/guitarist Finnegan Bell, Love Ghost is an enigmatic LA-based band known for its distinctive blend of grunge, indie/alt- rock and post-punk. Informed by the Seattle tradition as much as a Soundcloud-era fearlessness, the combination of a raw, energetic sound with mature lyrics - not to mention several other recent collaborations - have earned them plaudits from US outlets such as Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, American Songwriter and New Noise.
