Gianni Negri & Patrizia Kolombo - Così Non Finirà
"Not just a simple love song, but a journey into the depths of the soul": with these words, Patrizia Kolombo describes "Così Non Finirà" (This Is How It Won't End), her new single created in collaboration with Gianni Negri. The song, available from Pako Music Records in both Italian and a heartfelt version in the Neapolitan language capable of enriching the narrative with an additional level of intimacy and personalization, highlights the roots of a story whose true essence lies in the bond between lovers, one in the heart of the other.
A personal and universal window at the same time, unique in its many facets, which opens onto the scenario of totalizing emotions, capable of going far beyond conventional romantic declarations. Through the fusion of sweet, enveloping, and evocative melodies and strongly penetrating lyrics, the two artists invite us to reflect on our own love experiences, singing not only about the highest feeling in the world but also laying bare the complexities and contradictions that often characterize it.
The music, composed by Gianni Negri, and the lyrics, written by Patrizia Kolombo, immerse themselves in the joy and fears inherent in love, offering listeners a sincere and reflective analysis of what it truly means to love someone, going beyond the surface to touch the most intimate dynamics of the heart.
Because loving is wonderful, but the fear of hurting or being hurt, of wounding or being wounded, sometimes prevents us from fully opening ourselves to the other. This hesitation arises from the awareness of the vulnerabilities generated by giving and receiving affection. Despite the light intrinsic to love, the fear of exposing one's heart to the unpredictable blows of fate can hold back our steps towards deeper intimacy and joy. In "Così Non Finirà," this inner conflict is represented with intense empathy, reflecting on how difficult, yet essential, it is to overcome these fears to fully embrace the possibility of an authentic and lasting bond.
The song encourages us to overcome these obstacles, to trust the beats that, shaking us from within, remind us that we are truly living, that losing control may be the only way to save ourselves from a monochromatic routine, and that the risk of suffering is a small price to pay to discover the fullness of a true love. This theme finds echo and expression in the key verse of the song, "Give me your time and everything will go in the right direction," a reminder that emphasizes how shared time and presence are fundamental in consolidating a relationship. These words, so powerful in their apparent simplicity, highlight the emotional investment necessary to face the uncertainties of couple relationships, suggesting that dedication and patience can guide two people towards a deeper understanding and harmony, overcoming together every challenge, every doubt, every adversity.
"Così non finirà," with the masterful production of Francesco De Rosa, also reveals a further level of connection and mutual discovery: while the foundations of a relationship are built on time and patience, it also opens the door to a more intimate, spiritual, and soulful knowledge of the other. A passage to discovery that is magnificently captured in the verse "We are people of other times, from an unknown planet, we are us," evoking a sensation of uniqueness and mystery that highlights how every love introduces people into a completely new and unknown universe, a world in which, only together, it is possible to explore the hidden wonders in a sincere union.
"I wasn't looking for you, but now that you are here I tie you to my thoughts, I feel your essence... It is similar to mine": in this line, Gianni Negri and Patrizia Kolombo take us by the hand and invite us to dwell on how love often surprises, on how, despite initial resistance, the birth of an unexpected harmony can transform an individual's perception of himself and life.
The future, with all its unknowns, is a recurring theme in the song, which in "I see you in a future that terrifies me but you stay close, together it will be better," reveals yes the vulnerability to which love exposes us, but also the unwavering strength that can blossom from supporting each other, from facing fears together and building a shared tomorrow despite uncertainties.
"This song," declares Patrizia Kolombo, "is more than a love song. The intent is to be able to touch the soul of those who listen to it. It is a hymn to the complexity of relationships and the fear that accompanies them. Each of us fears something: the future, love, uncertainty. But when you meet a person, an authentic connection, when you recognize something beautiful, something that could be right, fears should be put aside and lived fully. It's like discovering a ray of light in the darkest night."
The Neapolitan version, titled "O' ssaje nun po' fernì" and sung piano and voice by Gianni Negri alone, enriches the emotional dimension of the song thanks to a language steeped in history and culture. This even more intimate variant creates an additional link with the public, transporting them directly into the heart of the Neapolitan musical tradition and the very essence of the city. Even the cover of the song, which depicts Naples, its sea and Vesuvius, is a tribute to the capital of Campania, which adds a precious layer of meaning to the narrative. Vesuvius, with its imposing presence and its history of eruptions, represents the strength and intensity of emotions in a relationship, while the sea, with its waves and its ability to evoke both calm and tumult, symbolizes the flow of experiences in a couple's life.
Naples, with its rich history, culture, and tradition, fully reflects the complexity of relationships: these elements, combined with the lyrics and the interpretation in Neapolitan, create a combination of beauty, intensity, and strength, allowing the listener to immerse themselves in a painting of shades of love and life.
"I want to explain why the choice of this cover," continues Patrizia Kolombo, concluding: "Vesuvius represents love and passion, while the sea symbolizes beauty and strength, but also the complexity of love stories. I chose a shot of Naples, which Gianni instantly approved, to invite those who listen to us to live fully, to embrace every facet of love and life with courage and hope."
"'Così Non Finirà'," accompanied by the evocative and emblematic official visual video, is an all-around experience, a song beyond the song, capable of celebrating love in its truest and most intense forms. A song that directly touches the soul, inviting us to live emotions and relationships without reservations. A caress in a pop-songwriter key that guides us, envelops us and encourages us to discover a new way of living ourselves, others and love through music.
