John Lydon, the provocative voice behind Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd., has surprised fans by expressing a desire to collaborate with pop superstar Taylor Swift. Just months ago, in February, Lydon dismissed Swift as “incredibly boring” in an interview, but his tune has changed. Speaking to The Mirror, he acknowledged her achievements and floated the idea of a duet, saying, “People who make music like Taylor do it very well. She deserves a shot at working with me. Imagine that duet?”

Lydon’s history of musical partnerships isn’t without its hiccups. He revealed a failed attempt to record with Kate Bush, stalled by vocal disagreements. “She basically told me to get lost—not her exact words, but that was the vibe,” he quipped. Known for his sharp tongue, Lydon has also critiqued Lady Gaga’s personality while previously praising her “Paparazzi” as “genius” in 2011. His recent comments on The Clash’s Joe Strummer, slamming his middle-class roots and vocal style, further cement his reputation for unfiltered opinions. Meanwhile, Public Image Ltd.’s latest album, "End of World," released in August 2023, earned solid reviews, with Mojo naming it among the year’s best.
