Time and the Hunter - Mycelium
Renowned Swedish guitarist and sound designer Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity, Mitochondrial Sun) and Italian vocal artist Enrico Longhin (The Moor) unveil “Mycelium,” the debut single from their new project Time and the Hunter. The track, accompanied by an exclusive music video, marks the first step into the project's unique sonic universe, where every second is an era and every cell an entire world.

“Mycelium” delves into themes of fear and transformation, drawing inspiration from Italo Calvino’s allegorical storytelling. The song tells the tale of a man confronting his fears, symbolized by a lion, while Enrico Longhin’s vision adds depth through the imagery of an ancient forest, where the mycelium, the vast, interconnected underground network, serves as a metaphor for hidden strength and unseen connections.
Enrico Longhin explains: "We worked on this album for four years, meticulously refining every detail from the lyrics to the sonic textures and atmospheres. Despite this, we embraced an intuitive approach, prioritizing emotion over technical perfection. There were no commercial calculations behind the project; every track stands on its own, allowing us complete freedom to explore any sound or instrument we desired. ‘Mycelium’ takes you on a magical journey, beginning with an immersive intro before unfolding into a vast emotional landscape. What I love most is that these songs can make you laugh and cry at the same time, there’s always a bittersweet balance running through the album."
Produced by Enrico Longhin and Niklas Sundin, the song was mixed by Longhin and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory (Katatonia, Bloodbath, Darkane). The music video was self-produced and directed by Niklas Sundin, whose visual artistry brings the song’s mysterious world to life.
