Fifth Harmony Reunion on the Horizon
The pop sensation Fifth Harmony, which went on an indefinite hiatus in 2018, may be poised for a comeback, though not all members are expected to return. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing multiple unnamed sources, four of the original five members are considering a reunion, with Camila Cabello opting to stay on her solo path.
Cabello left the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career that has since flourished. With four albums under her belt, she has captivated audiences with chart-topping hits like «Havana», «Señorita» alongside Shawn Mendes, and «Bam Bam» featuring Ed Sheeran. Her success has set a high bar that her former bandmates have yet to match.
The other members—Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke, and Lauren Jauregui—have each explored solo endeavors with varying degrees of success. Normani came closest to Cabello’s achievements, earning acclaim for collaborations like «Love Lies» with Khalid, «Dancing with a Stranger» with Sam Smith, and «Wild Side» with Cardi B, as well as her solo track «Motivation». Yet, her long-awaited debut album, «Dopamine», released in 2024, failed to capture significant attention, despite generating buzz and memes among pop fans for its delayed arrival. Meanwhile, Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke, and Lauren Jauregui have struggled to make a mark on the charts as solo artists.
Fifth Harmony, during their active years, released three albums: «Reflection» (2015), «7/27» (2016), and «Fifth Harmony» (2017), the last of which was recorded without Cabello. The group’s infectious hits, including «Worth It», «Work from Home», «All in My Head (Flex)», and «That’s My Girl», cemented their place in pop music history. Notably, «Worth It» became the first music video by a female group to surpass one billion views on YouTube, a milestone that underscored their global impact.
