Wékeras - Urok
Sweden-based black metal entity Wékeras have signed to Pagan Records for the release of their debut album “Do wirów, do krzyków!” on 29 June 2025.
As a first taste of the forthcoming album, Wékeras have unleashed the track "Urok". Listen to it here:
“Urok” encapsulates the raw essence of what listeners can expect from "Do wirów, do krzyków!": a relentless descent into necromantic old-school black metal, marked by its aggressive, cold, eerie and atmospheric soundscapes.
"Do wirów, do krzyków!" is a testament to the band's continued evolution, drawing inspiration from the chilling intensity of the Norwegian black metal scene (Burzum, Emperor) and the primal aggression of first-wave influences like Bathory and Venom. Lyrically, the album delves deep into the unsettling realms of primitive magic, Slavic folklore, horror, and demonology.
Formed in 2022 by Horreur, Vulgael, and JRMR, with Pitoperversor joining shortly after, Wékeras quickly established their presence. Following their independently released debut demo "Pochwała Cienia" in early 2023 (later re-released by Nigredo Records and Eastern Myth Records), the band has actively toured in Sweden, Germany, and France, including festival appearances and a mini-tour.
"Do wirów, do krzyków!" features Horreur on guitar (also responsible for composition), Vulgael on bass, Pitoperversor on drums, and JRMR on vocals and lyrics. The album was recorded in 2024 in Årstaberg, Sweden, and mixed and mastered by Jimmy Lundberg. All artwork, logos, and layouts were created by JRMR.
