Kesherul Neg Pineg - The book of pig

The Franco-Czech duo Kesherul Neg Pineg casts a spell on ritual reductionism, offering unsettling, even gloomy, psychedelic grooves. Frenzied attacks, atmospheric soundscapes, the music remains unpredictable but full of abundant energy and unexpected turns. The two musicians bewilder the senses, creating illusions and deceptions, diverting their instruments, extended trumpet, dizzying analog synthesis, prepared percussion…
These two activists of improvised and experimental music met in Prague in 2015 and have since multiplied collaborations and exchanges (Toc & The Compulsive Brass, Butcher’s Cleaver, …).

Petr Vrba unrelenting explorations of non-idiomatic improvisation using trumpet, clarinets, synths, diy electronics, vibrating speakers etc., made him one of the most active experimental musicians in Prague these days. He is founder (with George Cremaschi) of Prague Improvisation Orchestra and bands like Poisonous Frequencies (with Didi Kern and Tomislav Federsel), junk & the beast (with Veronika Mayer), The MoND (with Ken Ganfield and Pasi Mäkelä), NOIZ (with Thomas Lehn and Tiziana Bertoncini), IQ+1 and others. He regularly works with dancers and filmmakers.
His discography counts over 40 albums and includes debut double vinyl Prague Improvisation Orchestra on Polí 5, Schallschatten (with Birgit Ulher) on Inexhaustible Editions, Malá Pardubická vol. 1.-4. (with Mikolaj Trzaska, Mark Tokar and Balazs Pándi), Resonators (with George Cremaschi and Irene Kepl) on Another Timbre, Huppe Quitieren by Poisonous Frequencies feat. Joke Lanz, duo with Yan Jun on Kandala records and many others. For two albums he was also member of psych-rock band Rouilleux.

Petr has played with musicians like Tony Buck, Xavier Charles, Angélica Castelló, Michel Doneda, Axel Dörner, Isabelle Duthoit, Kai Fagaschinski, Susanna Gartmayer, Franz Hautzinger, Agnes Hvizdalek, Mazen Kerbaj, Christof Kurzmann, Joke Lanz, ErikM, Magda Mayas, Ava Mendoza, Seijiro Murayama, Peter Orins, Maja Osojnik, Ryu Hankil, Matija Schellander, Burkhard Stangl, Michael Zerang and many others.

In 2010-2016 he curated the musical programme of Communication Space Školská 28 which was a multifunctional space for various nonprofit cultural and artistic activities. Since 2018 he became dramaturgist for the Alternativa festival in Prague.

Active in jazz since the mid 90’s, Peter Orins plays in the bands that created in 2000 the Circum collective. At the same time he joined the Crime, an improvised and experimental music collective, where he developed his solo work (drums and electronics using Pure Data software) and improvisation and experimental projects. In 2010, Circum and Crime merged and became Muzzix, a collective for which he is co-director. In 2010 he formed the Franco-Japanese quartet Kaze with pianist Satoko Fujii and trumpeters Natsuki Tamura and Christian Pruvost. Several international tours (Japan, Israel, Germany, France, USA, Canada) and collaborative projects (with Sophie Agnel, Didier Lasserre, and finally with IkueMori). He has been involved in many projects of the Muzzix collective: the Toc trio, the trio with Sakina Abdou and Barbara Dang, the big orchestra of Muzzix (creations around the music of Moondog, with the Dedalus ensemble, with Anthony Pateras or Michael Pisaro-Liu…), etc…
He multiplies meetings and projects with musicians from all over the world, in improvised music, free-jazz or contemporary music: Michael Pisaro- Liu, Petr Vrba, Jasper Stadhouders, Joke Lanz, Ikue Mori, Paulina Owczarek, John Dikeman, Dave Rempis, Christine Wodrascka, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Kasper Toeplitz, Éric Normand, Didier Lasserre, etc…
