Shigeto - Cherry Blossom Baby

Cherry Blossom Baby, Shigeto's first LP since 2017, features a bold, band-built sound, honoring traditions in electronic, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, a fusion that's become Zach Saginaw's signature for over a decade. The record is a celebration of scene vitality rooted in Detroit's new wave, and it's out next month on limited edition Sakura Droplet vinyl.

Under the name Shigeto, Japanese-American producer and drummer Zach Saginaw engages his heritage and community through music that moves fluidly between genre and era. For an artist that often looks to the past for inspiration, Saginaw remains in constant forward motion, collaborating, performing, DJing, co-running the label Portage Garage Sounds, and hosting his WDET 101.9FM show highlighting "forward-thinking music from the Detroit Diaspora."
 
To welcome his return to vinyl, we've restocked much of Shigeto's back catalog in new colors over the past year: The New Monday, No Better Time Than Now, Lineage, and, as of this week, his 2010 debut, Full Circle.
