HARA ALONSO - Covered In Noise

Hara Alonso’s second single from her new album touch•me•not (March 26), Covered in Noise, is a collage of field recordings, juno 6 and a tender voice. Her research aroud touch lead her to philosopher Brian Massumi, quoting him:

"Brain and skin form a resonating vessel. Stimulation turns inward, is folded into the body, except that there is no inside for it to be in, because the body is radically open, absorbing impulses quicker than they can be perceived, and because the entire vibratory event is unconscious, out of mind’’

Biography

Hara Alonso is a pianist, composer, and sound artist. Her compositional process is rooted in bodily experience, exploring multisensory practices, memory, space, and imagination as tools for sound creation. In recent years, she has expanded the sonic and interpretive possibilities of the piano through extended techniques, somatic practices, and signal processing. Her sonic universe—described as "gloomy bubbling electronic power ambient"—navigates between granular landscapes, minimal rhythms, and hypnotic layers with a strong micro-lyrical presence.

Hara’s music has been showcased at numerous festivals in various forms, including ensemble, solo performances, sound installations, and electroacoustic music. She has collaborated extensively in the dance scene, working with choreographers such as Pontus Pettersson, Oda Brekke, Marc Sonderkamp, and Eleonora dall’Asta.

In 2018, her first EP Pianoïse for piano and electronics was released by the label Keroxen. In 2021, Eotrax released her acclaimed first solo album Somatic Suspension. Her free jazz album Ritual para acercarse (2022), in collaboration with Susana Santos Silva (trumpet), Elsa Bergman (double bass), and Camila Nebbia (saxophone), was released by Ramble Records. In 2023, her solo piano album Notions of Hope was released by piano and coffee records, featuring 11 meditative piano tracks. Her latest album, Towards a Melancholy of the Future (2024), created with Mexican artist Concepción Huerta, was released on the label Superpang.
