Paramount Pictures has locked in a date for the feathered frenzy to return with "Angry Birds Movie 3," inspired by Rovio Entertainment’s iconic game series. The quirky inhabitants of Bird and Pig Islands will flap back into theaters in 2027, led once again by the fiery Red and the zippy Chuck, with Silver and Bomb rounding out the familiar flock for another round of mischief.

According to Deadline, "Angry Birds Movie 3" will hit screens worldwide on January 29, 2027, following its predecessors from 2016 and 2019. While the plot remains tightly under wraps, the stage is set for a new chapter in this avian saga.

Development kicked off in the summer of 2024, with Jason Sudeikis ("Ted Lasso") returning to voice the hot-tempered Red and Josh Gad ("Beauty and the Beast" 2017) lending his charm to Chuck. The cast grows richer with Rachel Bloom ("How I Met Your Father") back as the sharp-witted Silver and Danny McBride ("The Disaster Artist") reprising the explosive Bomb. Details about other feathered or swine friends are still hushed, but the lineup promises familiar chaos. Adding fresh faces, the film welcomes Emma Myers ("Wednesday"), Keke Palmer ("Scream Queens"), Tim Robinson ("American Pickle"), Lily James ("Downton Abbey"), Walker Scobell ("Percy Jackson and the Olympians"), and Sam Richardson ("Ted Lasso"). Producer John Cohen couldn’t hide his glee, calling this crew some of today’s funniest talents.

Steering the project is director John Rice, with Thurop Van Orman penning the script—both veterans of "Angry Birds Movie 2." The franchise has already proven its box-office might: the first film raked in $352 million globally on a $73 million budget, while the sequel pulled $147 million from a $65 million nest egg, both under Sony Pictures’ wing. Together, they’ve netted the studio half a billion dollars, and Paramount now hopes to keep the momentum flying high.
