Marina Diamandis has released her latest single, “C**tissimo,” a vibrant track slated for inclusion on her sixth studio album, “Princess of Power,” due out on June 6.

With “C**tissimo,” Diamandis revisits the shimmering pop ethos of her 2012 breakout, “Electra Heart,” widely regarded as her most triumphant work. She describes the song as “a pop anthem inspired by glamorous, fearless, self-assured women who live life to the fullest.” Diamandis cites icons like Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, and Rihanna as her muses for the track.

The “Princess of Power” tracklist will feature 13 songs, including “C**tissimo” alongside previously released singles “Butterfly” from February and “Cupid’s Girl” from March. Diamandis co-wrote all three with CJ Baran, a producer known for his collaborations with Melanie Martinez and Panic! At The Disco. For Diamandis, crafting “Princess of Power” was a liberating journey. She delved into her fears surrounding love, coming to see the act of loving as a bold and powerful choice—especially for someone who has been hurt. Rewriting her own narrative, she admits, was no easy feat.

Diamandis’s most recent album, “Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land,” arrived in 2021, marking “Princess of Power” as her first full-length project in four years. While “Ancient Dreams” didn’t dominate commercially, it earned solid praise from critics, with The Arts Desk hailing it as her finest release to date. The album’s single “Man’s World” also garnered Diamandis a nomination for the prestigious British Ivor Novello Award.
