Kendrick Lamar has released a music video for “Luther,” his soulful collaboration with R&B star SZA. The tender visuals capture the duo singing about the highs of love and the sting of parting ways.

Directed by Karina Evans, known for helming Drake’s “Nice for What,” “God’s Plan,” and “In My Feelings,” as well as Coldplay’s “Everyday Life,” the video casts Nigerian-American singer and artist Annastasia Enuke as Lamar’s love interest and model Geron McKinley as SZA’s counterpart.

The clip closes with Luther Vandross’s “If This World Were Mine,” a sample woven into “Luther” itself. The track’s title pays homage to Vandross, the revered American R&B icon. Featured on Lamar’s sixth album, “GNX,” which dropped on November 22, “Luther” has already soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, claimed fourth place on the UK charts, and even cracked the top 25 of Russia’s TopHit rankings.

On February 9, Lamar took the stage at Super Bowl 2025, performing “Luther” live for the first time alongside SZA. Shortly before the event, he sat down for a revealing interview with Timothée Chalamet, who not only probed the rapper’s thoughts but confessed to being a longtime fan.

“GNX” arrived without warning, catching fans off guard. The album stormed charts and earned widespread praise. At the 2025 Grammys, Lamar swept five awards, all for his searing diss track “Not Like Us” aimed at Drake, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. “GNX” missed the nomination window—Grammy rules limit eligibility to releases before August—but it’s poised to make a strong case at the 2026 ceremony.
