Drake Teases New Album in the Works

Drake is already crafting a new album, the rapper shared during a livestream with popular streamer Adin Ross.

Just recently, in February, Drake dropped «Some Sexy Songs 4 U», a collaborative project with Canadian R&B artist PartyNextDoor. The release was a triumph, topping the Billboard 200, with the track «Nokia» securing the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Drake also made history as the first artist to surpass 110 billion streams on Spotify. Expressing gratitude to his fans for streaming the album, he revealed he’s already working on his next record. Adin Ross seemed visibly stunned by the news.

Drake didn’t disclose the title, release date, or any specific details about the upcoming project. His last solo album, «For All the Dogs», came out in 2023. In 2024, Drake was most notably in the spotlight for his feud with Kendrick Lamar, where the two rappers exchanged five diss tracks each. Drake came up short in the battle: Lamar’s diss track «Not Like Us» became a massive hit, claiming the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching a multimillion audience during Lamar’s performance at the 2025 Super Bowl. Struggling to accept the loss, Drake even attempted to sue Spotify and Universal, alleging they artificially boosted Lamar’s track. However, his claims failed to convince anyone—Universal dismissed the lawsuit as a desperate attempt to save face after the defeat.

Despite the setbacks in 2024, Drake’s popularity remains unshaken. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, he ranked second among the year’s most successful artists. In March, Drake hinted at a daring “new chapter”—perhaps a nod to the forthcoming album.
