Blackpink’s New Chapter: Crafting a New Album and Gearing Up for a World Tour
Blackpink is weaving a new musical tapestry in the studio, laying the groundwork for their highly anticipated album, set to drop “soon,” though an exact date remains under wraps. Earlier reports hinted at a 2025 release, with the group poised to embark on a global tour to showcase their first full-length project since 2022. According to TenAsia, the album is expected to arrive no later than June, aligning with the group’s upcoming performances. In a recent chat with Variety, Blackpink’s Lisa Manoban shared a glimpse into their creative process:
“We were in the studio just a few days ago, pouring our hearts into this. We’re beyond thrilled to reunite and hit the road again. We miss our Blinks so much and can’t wait to see them.”
When pressed for a release date, Lisa teased with a playful nudge:
“Hold tight—it’s coming soon, I promise. The time is near.”
The group’s world tour is slated to launch on July 5, kicking off with a pair of shows in Goyang, South Korea, before jetting off to the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Japan. This timeline fuels speculation that the album might indeed land in June, setting the stage for their global performances.
In the meantime, the four members of Blackpink have been dazzling fans with their individual endeavors. Between December 2024 and March 2025, each unveiled a solo project: Rosé released her album Rosie, Jisoo dropped the EP Amortage, Lisa debuted Alter Ego, and Jennie unveiled Ruby. Rosé soared to the top of the charts with her Bruno Mars duet “Apt,” while Jisoo and Lisa ventured into acting—Jisoo in the zombie drama Newtopia and Lisa in the third season of The White Lotus (2021–present). Jennie, no stranger to the screen, earned praise for her role as Dyanne in The Weeknd’s series The Idol in 2023, despite the show’s mixed reception.
