Pacific Rim Series in Development at Prime Video
A series set in the «Pacific Rim» universe is being developed for Prime Video, with Amazon having secured the rights to the franchise, according to Variety.
The show will serve as a prequel to the film series about colossal piloted robots, though specific plot details remain under wraps. Sources indicate that new «Pacific Rim» movies might also be in the cards, but their development has not yet started.
The series was first announced in 2024, with Eric Heisserer tapped as the writer and executive producer.
The original «Pacific Rim» film, directed by Guillermo del Toro, hit theaters in 2013 and grossed over $400 million worldwide. Its sequel, «Pacific Rim: Uprising», arrived in 2018, while the animated series «Pacific Rim: The Black» aired on Netflix for two seasons from 2021 to 2022.
