Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal has carved an extraordinary path from bit parts in crime dramas to becoming a Hollywood heavyweight. With the second season of The Last of Us on the horizon, we spotlight six of the Chilean actor’s most eagerly awaited projects, showcasing why he’s poised to command our screens for years to come.

Freaky Tales, 2024

This punk-infused anthology from directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck premiered at Sundance last year and is now hitting U.S. theaters. Set in Oakland, California, in 1987, Freaky Tales weaves four interconnected stories brimming with mysticism, martial arts, and nefarious Nazis. Pascal stars as Clint, a mercenary determined to wipe out crime—until a brutal twist sees his wife murdered, sparking a relentless quest for vengeance. He’s joined by Tom Hanks, Ben Mendelsohn, and the late Angus Cloud of Euphoria. Catch Freaky Tales online starting April 25.

Eddington, 2025

After missing the Cannes premiere of Pedro Almodóvar’s Extraña Forma de Vida in 2023, Pascal may make his French Riviera debut with Eddington, Ari Aster’s (Midsommar) comedic western. Set in a small New Mexico town during the 2020 lockdown, Pascal plays a mayor clashing with the local sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix). Emma Stone stars as the mayor’s wife, with an unexpected Austin Butler rounding out the cast. Expect Aster’s biting humor, horror undertones, and a sharp social commentary akin to Don’t Look Up. A24 releases Eddington globally on July 18.

Materialists, 2025

Pascal effortlessly blends blockbusters with indie gems, and Materialists proves it. Directed by Celine Song (Past Lives), this romantic comedy follows an elite matchmaker (Dakota Johnson) who falls for a wealthy man (Pascal), only for her ex (Chris Evans) to threaten their bliss. Set for release in June, Pascal’s charm could breathe fresh life into the rom-com genre.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps, 2025

Reboots are tricky, especially under the scrutiny of social media and fervent fans, but Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks promising. Pascal leads as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, alongside Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear). Set in a retro-futuristic 1960s, inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s aesthetic, the team battles the planet-devouring Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and a reimagined Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). Directed by Matt Shakman, it hits U.S. theaters on July 25.

Avengers: Doomsday, 2026

Pedro Pascal

The fifth Avengers installment, Doomsday, pits a sprawling superhero roster against Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.). Filming is underway in the UK, with plot details tightly guarded. Pascal’s Mister Fantastic is sure to play a pivotal role, and his star power—and paycheck—will only soar as he navigates Marvel’s cinematic universe.

The Mandalorian and Grogu, 2026

The Mandalorian and Grogu, 2026

Pascal’s Hollywood ascent began with Star Wars and The Mandalorian. After three seasons as the helmeted bounty hunter Din Djarin, he returns for a feature-length adventure in The Mandalorian and Grogu. Directed by series creator Jon Favreau, the film follows Djarin and Baby Yoda on new cosmic escapades, with Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White in supporting roles. It premieres worldwide on May 22, 2026.
