In Your Data Is Funnier Than You, Alienationist descends into the abyss of what we naively call the self — only to expose its greatest lie: that it was ever self-contained. Like a vessel, it is shaped by what flows through it—data, surveillance, blurry memories.
Blurring the lines between club resonance and poetic introspection, the Berlin-based artist fuses breakbeats, drones, and spoken word. Poems intertwine with pulsing 100 BPM rhythms and ambient textures, creating a sardonic dance between person and avatar. Glitchy beats and spectral drones reflect our fractured, hyperlinked identities. Is it a critique or a celebration of our hyperconnected era? Probably both. LOL.
The EP unfolds in two parts: Echoes captures the external gaze—surveillance, digital traces, and the self sculpted by observation. Fragments drifts into the unseen—digital ghosts, the seeming banality of mundane privacy when no one is watching. Where does the self end and the algorithm begin?
