Giancarlo Esposito to Reprise Sidewinder Role in New Marvel Series
Giancarlo Esposito will return to the role of mercenary Sidewinder in a new secret Marvel series. The villain debuted in the movie "Captain America: New World Order." It is possible that he will appear in the series "Daredevil: Born Again."
Giancarlo Esposito hinted back in 2024 that after "Captain America 4" he would return in a new Marvel series. If he only had a cameo in Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) solo film, then he will have a more significant role in the series. Now Comic Book wrote that Esposito will indeed play Sidewinder in a mysterious series.
In the movie "Captain America: New World Order," Sidewinder worked for Leader/Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson). Sidewinder is a member of the Serpent Society criminal group, which explains his "snake" nickname. In fact, Sidewinder's real name is Seth Walker.
The leader hired a criminal to steal Adamantium with his accomplices - a valuable metal mined from the body of Celestial Tiamut from "Eternals" (2021). Surely, the topic of Adamantium will continue in subsequent projects. Criminal authorities in the spirit of Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) may well be interested in the metal. Therefore, Sidewinder will fit into the harsh showdowns in the series "Daredevil: Born Again." Charlie Cox will reprise the role of Daredevil/Matt Murdock.
Marvel has many series in the plans. Sidewinder can appear in each of them. So, fans are waiting for "Ironheart" (premiering on June 24), "Wonder Man" (premiering in December), and "Vision Quest" (premiering in 2026).
"Daredevil: Born Again" starts on March 4. There will be 9 episodes in season 1. Disney+ has already approved season 2.
