Garbage Announces New Album "Let All That We Imagine Be The Light"
Garbage has announced their new album, "Let All That We Imagine Be The Light," set to be released on May 30th. This will be the band's first work in four years, following their previous album, "No Gods No Masters," which was released in June 2021.
Garbage has yet to share a single from the upcoming release, but they have promised that its premiere will take place in the coming weeks. Here is the album cover for "Let All That We Imagine Be The Light":
And here is the tracklist for the album:
- "There’s No Future In Optimism"
- "Chinese Fire Horse"
- "Hold"
- "Have We Met (The Void)"
- "Sisyphus"
- "Radical"
- "Love To Give"
- "Get Out My Face AKA Bad Kitty"
- "R U Happy Now"
- "The Day That I Met God"
According to Garbage's lead singer, Shirley Manson, their previous album was extremely candid and direct due to a feeling of frustration and resentment. On the new record, she felt the need to address a more positive, constructive form of energy. Here's what Manson said:
"When everything seems dark, it's better to find something bright, something loving and kind. When I was younger, I was prone to destruction. Now that I'm older, I think it's very important to build and create."
The album "Let All That We Imagine Be The Light" is described as "undeniably Garbage, with all the familiar hallmarks and signatures." It promises "massive angular guitars, precise driving beats, and cinematic soundscapes." The material was recorded at Red Razor Sounds studio in California, as well as at Garbage drummer Butch Vig's own studio and Shirley Manson's apartment. The musicians themselves and their longtime sound engineer, Billy Bush, served as producers.
