Kevin Bacon Slays Demons in "The Bondsman" Trailer
Amazon Prime Video has rolled out the first trailer for the mini-series The Bondsman, with Kevin Bacon front and center. At 66, the actor slips into the rugged shoes of a mercenary hauled back from death to take on demons. Fans are already likening him to John Constantine and Ash Williams.
The plot follows grizzled bounty hunter Hub Halloran (Bacon), who bites the dust on a botched job—only to be resurrected by the Devil himself. The ruler of the infernal depths enlists Hub to track down escaped demons, a grim task he can’t dodge without risking his own obliteration. Satan’s perky assistant, Midge (Jolyn Purdy of The White Lotus), spells it out in the trailer:
“Fail to wrangle any demons, and you’re done for.”
The trailer’s got fans hooked, teasing a blend of wicked laughs and breakneck thrills. Kevin Bacon (Mystic River) shines with his dry-as-bone charm, marking his first series since City on a Hill (2019–2022). His small-screen debut kicked off back in 2013 with The Following (2013–2015). Viewers say Hub’s grit calls to mind DC’s occult gumshoe Constantine, Marvel’s fiery Ghost Rider, and the demon-thrashing Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise.
The series is the brainchild of Eric Oleson (Daredevil), with horror titan Jason Blum of Blumhouse (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) at the helm as producer. Joining Bacon are Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood), Beth Grant (Dexter), and Jennifer Nettles (The Righteous Gemstones).
All eight episodes of The Bondsman Season 1 drop on Amazon Prime on April 3.
