Yeon Sang-ho’s "Colony": New Zombie Film Begins Production

Director Yeon Sang-ho, celebrated for his breakout hit Train to Busan, is embarking on a fresh cinematic venture with his latest project, Colony (working title, derived from the Korean Gunche). On March 7, Showbox officially announced the start of production, while the filmmaker himself shared details about the stellar cast joining the journey.

The film boasts an impressive lineup, including Jung Jin-hyun (The Killing), Koo Kyo-hwan (Missing), Go Soo (Missing), Ji Chang-wook (The Worst of Evil), and more. Commenting on the launch of filming, Yeon offered an enthusiastic glimpse into his vision:

"I’m setting out on a grand adventure alongside a remarkable cast and crew, aiming to craft an entertaining, top-tier spectacle that audiences can savor on the big screen. I’m beyond thrilled and brimming with anticipation," he said.

As of now, Colony lacks an official English title and a confirmed release date. The story promises to plunge viewers into a tense scenario: a building besieged by a sudden zombie virus outbreak, where survivors must barricade themselves within and fend off relentless waves of the undead.
