“Ballerina” John Wick Spin-Off Trailer

Lionsgate has unveiled a fresh trailer for the action-packed “Ballerina,” a spin-off from the John Wick universe. The spotlight falls on Eve Macarro, a lethal assassin brought to life by Ana de Armas (Knives Out). The teaser hints that Eve might earn the chilling moniker “Kikimora.” And yes, the man himself, John Wick—played once more by Keanu Reeves, known in this world of killers as Baba Yaga—steps into the fray.

The trailer opens with a nod to Slavic folklore: Kikimora, a shadow-dwelling spirit who strikes down those with darkness in their hearts while shielding the innocent. It’s a clear tip-off that Eve embodies this duality—perhaps her official alias in the making.

Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), the film follows Eve, a hired gun from the Director’s crew (Angelica Huston) within the shadowy Ruska Roma syndicate. Fans might recall her debut in Chapter 3, twirling on stage as Wick parleyed with the Director—then portrayed by real-life ballerina Unity Phelan. This time, Eve’s on a mission of vengeance, hunting the gangsters who stole her parents’ lives.

Her path intertwines with the enigmatic Daniel Pine, played by Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), though his role remains cloaked in mystery. Eve’s actions threaten to ignite a firestorm among the underworld’s power players, prompting the Director to dispatch Wick to talk her down. A showdown between the two assassins looms—yet odds are, John will end up lending Eve a hand to topple her foes. The cast also features Continental Hotel manager Winston (Ian McShane) and concierge Charon (Lance Reddick, who passed away in 2023).

Helming the film is Len Wiseman (Underworld), with franchise creator Chad Stahelski on board as producer.
