Trailer Drops for New “Bonjour Tristesse” Adaptation Starring Chloë Sevigny
The internet has welcomed the first trailer for the drama “Bonjour Tristesse.”
The story follows Cécile, a young woman savoring her vacation on the sun-drenched coast of southern France alongside her father and his latest flame. The tide turns dramatically with the unexpected arrival of her mother, stirring the waters of their holiday idyll.
The film boasts a talented cast, including Lily McInerny (Palm Trees and Power Lines), Oscar nominee Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry), Claes Bang (Dracula), and more. Behind the camera is first-time director Durga Chew-Bose, steering this debut with a fresh eye.
“Bonjour Tristesse” made its global debut at the Toronto Film Festival last fall. Early reviews have been a mixed bag—57% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 58 out of 100 on Metacritic. Another notable take on the tale came in 1958, with Deborah Kerr and Jean Seberg lighting up the screen.
