Percy Jackson and the Olympians Swiftly Renewed for Season 3 on Disney+
Disney+ has wasted no time in renewing its hit series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" for a third season—well before the second even graces our screens.
The upcoming episodes will draw inspiration from the third installment in Rick Riordan’s celebrated series, "Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse." Since its streaming debut in December 2023, "The Olympians" has garnered glowing reviews from critics, cementing its place as a fan favorite.
The show follows the journey of teenager Percy (Walker Scobell), who discovers his extraordinary lineage: a demigod born of Poseidon and a mortal woman. Alongside his loyal companions, he embarks on a quest to unravel the truth of his divine purpose.
The cast sparkles with talent, including Leah Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Jay Duplass, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, among others. Steering the production is showrunner Jonathan E. Steinberg, known for his work on "Black Sails."
While the release date for the second season remains a mystery, filming wrapped up last summer. This isn’t Percy’s first brush with adaptation—back in the 2010s, two feature films brought his story to the big screen. Both stumbled at the box office and drew sharp criticism from fans and Riordan himself.
