Dua Lipa Drops «Physical» Remix Featuring Troye Sivan
Dua Lipa has unveiled a fresh take on her hit «Physical», this time joined by Troye Sivan. The remix arrives just in time to mark the fifth anniversary of her sophomore album, «Future Nostalgia», which first dazzled the world on March 27, 2020.
Originally launched as the second single from «Future Nostalgia» on January 31, 2020, «Physical» didn’t crack the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 but still shone brightly, hitting number three on the UK charts. Critics showered it with praise, with some hailing it as a standout gem in Lipa’s catalog. Word has it the Sivan-assisted remix was recorded back in 2021, only now stepping into the spotlight.
In 2024, Dua Lipa rolled out her third album, «Radical Optimism». While it didn’t match the meteoric success of «Future Nostalgia», it held its own, topping the UK charts and landing at number two on the Billboard 200. Some fans grumbled that Lipa fell short of her promises of psychedelic and Britpop influences, playing it safer than expected. Others leapt to her defense, praising the album’s solid quality and arguing that lightning like «Future Nostalgia» doesn’t strike twice in a row. Late last year, she gifted fans «Live from The Royal Albert Hall», a live album featuring orchestral renditions of her biggest hits.
On March 27, 2025, Lipa had double cause for celebration: the «Future Nostalgia» milestone and a courtroom victory. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer, writers of Cory Day’s «Wiggle And Giggle All Night», had accused her of lifting their melody for «Levitating». A New York court, however, ruled in Lipa’s favor. This wasn’t her first legal tango—Artikal Sound System had also cried plagiarism over «Levitating», but Lipa emerged victorious there too. Earlier in March, she lent her talents to Jennie of Blackpink’s album «Ruby», adding yet another feather to her cap.
