Arcade Fire Unveils Cars and Telephones Music Video
Arcade Fire has dropped their latest track and music video, "Cars and Telephones," after months of teasing new material. The song's release has finally arrived.
However, "Cars and Telephones" isn't exactly a brand-new track. It's a reworked version of a demo recording from 2001, meaning Arcade Fire wrote it before their debut album "Funeral" was released in 2004. Fans have had mixed reactions to the new version, with many preferring the original demo.
The band has recently deleted all their social media posts and changed their profile aesthetic. Arcade Fire's profile picture is now a pink image with the word "trust" inside a circle. This has led to speculation that their upcoming album or single may be titled "Trust" or "Circle of Trust," the latter being more likely due to their app's name.
Arcade Fire's most recent album, "We," came out three years ago in May 2022. Peter Gabriel contributed to the track "Unconditional II (Race and Religion)." The album received positive reviews and reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200. However, in August 2022, four people accused frontman Win Butler of sexual misconduct. Despite this, Arcade Fire continued to tour extensively, including a performance at the Argentinian Lollapalooza festival in 2024. The band denies the allegations, claiming all encounters were consensual.
On March 13, Arcade Fire performed three new songs, "Pink Elephant," "Ride or Die," and "Year of the Snake," at Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion festival. These tracks are expected to be included on their upcoming album.
