“Sinners” Starring Michael B. Jordan Tops U.S. Box Office
Ryan Coogler’s vampire horror “Sinners” has surged past “Minecraft” to claim the top spot at the North American box office.
The film raked in an impressive $45.6 million in ticket sales, marking the strongest opening for an original film since Jordan Peele’s “Us” debuted with $71.1 million in 2019, according to media reports.
International audiences contributed an additional $15.4 million, bringing the global total to $61 million. With a production budget of $90 million, the film features a stellar cast including Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, and others.
Coogler, known for “Black Panther,” also penned the screenplay for “Sinners.” The story follows two brothers in 1930s New Orleans who return to their hometown and catch the eye of an enigmatic Irish vampire.
