During Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed fresh insights into the long-awaited Star Wars film helmed by Taika Waititi, confirming that the project remains on the horizon. The delay in production, it turns out, stems from the director’s packed schedule as he juggles other commitments.
“Taika moves at his own pace… I’ve kept telling him: look, whenever you feel ready and can truly dedicate time to the film, we’ll make it happen. We’re willing to wait…,” Kennedy emphasized.
She highlighted that Waititi’s unique talent and distinctive style are well worth the patience, ensuring this new chapter in the Star Wars saga gets the time it deserves.
