Adam Scott to Star in Horror Film Hokum
Adam Scott is returning to the horror genre. The actor, whose credits include films like "Little Evil," "Krampus," "Piranha 3D," and "Hellraiser: Judgment," will star in the horror film "Hokum," according to Variety.
The star of "Severance" and "Parks and Recreation" will lead the cast of this supernatural horror film, with production set to begin in Ireland later this month.
The film is written and directed by Damian McCarthy, the creator of last year's acclaimed "The Medium," which generated significant buzz after its premiere at SXSW, where it won the Audience Award.
In "Hokum," Scott will play a horror writer who travels to a remote Irish hotel to scatter his parents' ashes, unaware that the place is rumored to be haunted by a witch. The film also stars Peter Coonan ("Bad Sisters") and David Wilmot ("Bodkin").
The film is produced by Spooky Pictures founders Roy Lee ("Barbarian") and Steven Schneider ("Strange Darling"), Derek Dochi of Image Nation ("Late Night with the Devil"), and Ruth Tracy, Julianna Forde, and Mairtin de Barra of Tailored Film ("The Student"). Ben Ross ("Late Night with the Devil"), Dan Kagan ("The Soul Collector"), Rami Yasin ("Late Night with the Devil"), and Andrew Childs ("Boy Against the World") will serve as executive producers.
The release date for "Hokum" has not yet been announced. This is not Adam Scott's first foray into the horror genre - he has previously starred in "Hellraiser: Bloodline", "Piranha 3D", and "Krampus".
