Big Bang Theory Spin-Off Title Revealed
Max has lifted the curtain on the title of a new sitcom set in the Big Bang Theory universe, originally aired on CBS. The show will follow the misadventures of Stuart Bloom, the quirky comic book store owner frequented by Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, and their crew. Kevin Sussman, now 54, steps back into Stuart’s shoes.
According to Deadline, the spin-off will bear the name Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Plot details remain hush-hush, but there’s a chance Stuart’s beloved store—his own little cosmos—might be teetering on the brink.
In Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, familiar faces return: Denise, Stuart’s assistant and sweetheart, played again by Lauren Lapkus, and Bert Kibbler, the geologist and guitar-strumming pal, brought to life by Brian Posehn. Whether other Big Bang favorites will pop in is still up in the air. Given the comic shop’s status as a haunt for Sheldon and Leonard, though, Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki might just be coaxed back into the fold.
The series is still in the works, yet to get an official green light. Franchise mastermind Chuck Lorre is steering the project, which first sparked buzz in 2023.
In The Big Bang Theory, Stuart often wrestled with loneliness, yearning to belong among Sheldon, Leonard, Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg), and Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar). Fitting in didn’t come easy—until Denise entered his life and a friendship with Raj took root, brightening his days.
