«Bridgerton» Star to Lead New Adaptation of «The Count of Monte Cristo»

British actor Regé-Jean Page, famed for his role in «Bridgerton», is set to headline a new cinematic take on the timeless novel «Le Comte De Monte-Cristo», according to Deadline.
Page will also step into a producer’s role for the upcoming film. The story follows Edmond Dantès, a man brutally betrayed and imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. After 14 years behind bars, he escapes and embarks on a relentless quest for vengeance.
A release date remains under wraps. Regé-Jean Page recently appeared in the spy thriller «Black Bag».
