Trailer for Season 2 of «The Walking Dead: Dead City» Released
AMC has unveiled the first full trailer for Season 2 of «The Walking Dead: Dead City». In the upcoming episodes, Negan Smith finds himself ensnared in the stronghold of the Burazi faction, while Maggie Greene sets out to free him.
Season 1 (2023) saw the Burazi kidnap Hershel (Logan Kim), Maggie’s son (Lauren Cohan), under the command of their leader, Horvat (Željko Ivanek)—an old acquaintance of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). They spirited the boy away to their Manhattan base. Horvat struck a deal with Maggie: bring him Negan, and Hershel would go free. To save her son, Maggie had no choice but to comply.
Years earlier, Negan had killed Maggie’s husband, Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). Since then, he’s undergone a profound transformation, even lending a hand to Alexandria in its battles. That shift made Maggie’s betrayal of him sting all the more. The Burazi’s true mastermind, Dama (Lisa Emery), saw Negan as a key to seizing control of Manhattan. Having learned from Horvat about Negan’s formidable past as the Saviors’ boss, she puts him to work in Season 2. He’ll likely aid her in taking on a fresh New York crew led by the enigmatic Breugel (Kim Coates). Escape isn’t an option—Dama could retaliate against Hilltop if he tries.
Maggie, meanwhile, keeps up her fight against the Burazi, determined to rescue Negan. Her home remains at risk; Dama could turn on her people if new schemes arise. At some point, Maggie and Negan join forces to tackle their shared foes. In one clash, Maggie even wields a bat—eerily reminiscent of Negan’s old signature weapon.
Season 2 of «The Walking Dead: Dead City» premieres May 4, spanning eight episodes—up from the six in its debut run. Looking ahead, 2025 will also bring Season 3 of the spin-off «The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon».
