Hollywood Gears Up for Sequels to “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and “Minecraft”
Warner Bros. is forging ahead with sequels to Tim Burton’s fantastical “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and the blockbuster sensation “Minecraft.”
The news comes from Warner Bros. executives Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, though specifics about the projects remain under wraps.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” hit theaters last September, raking in an impressive $451 million globally. The film starred Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, and Michael Keaton.
Meanwhile, “Minecraft” premiered in early April, shattering records with the biggest opening weekend ever for a video game adaptation. Within a week, it recouped its budget and amassed $351 million.
Abdy and De Luca are also steering other high-profile endeavors, including a fifth “Matrix” installment, a prequel titled “Untitled Margot Robbie Ocean’s Eleven Film” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, and more.
