Rosé of Blackpink Unveils “Messy” Music Video
Rosé, a luminous star of Blackpink, has debuted her latest single, “Messy,” crafted for the upcoming film F1. The music video weaves in cinematic glimpses from the movie, spotlighting Brad Pitt and Irish actress Kerry Condon.
In the video, Rosé’s soulful voice drifts over nocturnal cityscapes as she wanders a deserted road, exuding both poise and raw emotion. The clip has already amassed over 4 million views, with fans lauding her vocal prowess and the track’s evocative blend of elegance and vulnerability.
The production of “Messy” was helmed by acclaimed producers Lostboy and Burns. Lostboy has lent his talents to Kylie Minogue and Tate McRae, while Burns has collaborated with Lady Gaga and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. Songwriter Cleo Tighe, known for her work with TWICE and Charli XCX, also contributed to the track’s creation.
In December 2024, Rosé unveiled her debut solo album, Rosie, which included the chart-topping duet “Apt” with Bruno Mars, a standout hit of the year. Following suit, her Blackpink bandmates each dropped their own projects: Jisoo with her EP Amortage, Lisa with her album Alter Ego, and Jennie with Ruby. The quartet is now collaborating on a new Blackpink album, though its title and release date remain under wraps. Lisa has hinted at an imminent launch, likely before the group’s July tour kicks off.
The film F1 races into theaters on June 27. It follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a former racer sidelined by injury in the 1990s, who is called upon two decades later to mentor rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the visionary behind Top Gun: Maverick (2022), the movie boasts a star-studded soundtrack featuring Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Tiësto, and more.
