«Severance» Season 3 Confirmed by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has given the green light to a third season of «Severance», with whispers of possibly more chapters on the horizon.
On March 21, the streaming platform aired the tenth and final episode of Season 2, leaving viewers with an open-ended cliffhanger that begged for a follow-up. Now, Variety confirms Season 3 is officially in the works.

Apple reports that «Severance» has clinched the title of its most-watched series following Season 2’s finale. The sci-fi thriller has also won over critics and fans alike, boasting a 96% critics’ score and 78% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an 8.7 on IMDb, and an 8.2 on Kinopoisk.

With such a triumph, the show might stretch beyond three seasons. Director and producer Ben Stiller has hinted at enough ideas to fuel at least four, while writer Dan Erickson revealed a rough blueprint for the series’ lifespan. “A lot is mapped out [for Season 3],” Erickson said. “We’ve set an endpoint and have a sense of how many seasons we’re aiming for.” It seems «Severance» won’t be wrapping up anytime soon.

The first season debuted back in 2022, meaning Season 2 arrived after a three-year gap. Stiller, however, assures fans won’t face such a wait again: “No, we’re not planning [another three-year break]. Hopefully, we’ll share the plan soon.”

In «Severance», Mark Scout (Adam Scott) works on a peculiar floor at the enigmatic Lumon Industries. There, employees undergo a procedure severing personal memories from work ones. But Mark and his colleagues—Helly Riggs (Britt Lower), Irving Bailiff (John Turturro), and Dylan George (Zach Cherry)—soon unravel dark secrets tied to a sprawling conspiracy lurking within Lumon’s walls.
