Clone - Immutable
On the trail of their recently-released debut 'CL. 1' album, Brooklyn post-punk / alternative rock outfit CLONE present the timely single 'Immutable', a powerful anthem for the ordinary people who form the backbone of our society.
Delving deep into the ongoing, persistent struggle between the vast majority of people and a small, elite class, Clone explores how wealth and power are systematically extracted from the masses. A passionate call to action, 'Immutable' demands immediate attention to the pressing political and economic issues facing our world.
"This song is about us. The 99% that is working to keep it all moving forward. The history of the poor has never truly been told. 'Immutable' is the story of the 99% and how the 1% take it all from the masses," says frontman LG Galleon.
Released via Portland label Little Cloud Records and North Carolina's 5BC Records, this is an album born from a seemingly lost wellspring of shared imagination and a youthful transformative power. Earlier, the band shared iconoclastic singles 'Dividing Line' and 'Redeemer', each of them packed with their own dose of firepowder.
Recorded and mixed by NYC legendary producer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls) at his famed BC Studio (which was built by Brian Eno), 'CL.1' is a truly impressive debut album. Produced by LG Galleon and Bisi, this record was mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Pharaoh Sanders, Regina Spektor, Cassandra Wilson, Lloyd Cole).
One of the most exciting new post-punk bands on the scene these days, each member of Clone is of strong musical lineage. Dead Leaf Echo frontman LG Galleon is joined by NYC musicians Gregg Giufree (Pilot to Gunner), Max Idas and Dominick Turi. Today, their live line-up includes Paul Liziragga (Namesake) and Alex Cox (The Veldt).
A passionate attempt to revive the kind of music that once profoundly resonated with the isolated and vulnerable, Clone's music possesses a transformative power, capable of inspiring through its galvanizing, redemptive power. Drawing on the raw energy and boundless creativity of youth, Clone has created a personal sonic world that they now invite us all to experience.
The 'CL. 1' album is out now as a 12" vinyl LP, featuring an impressive black and white mix. It is also available everywhere digitally, including via Apple Music, Spotify. and Bandcamp.
CLONE performs next on Friday, October 25 on the rooftop of the Untitled Hotel in the LES (3 Freeman Alley NYC, 11th floor) as part of the 'UNTITLED Sound Series: A Digital Dystopia' (8pm-1am via Azure Arts NYC).
