At 24, TikTok phenomenon Addison Rae has revealed details of her debut album, titled simply "Addison," slated for release on June 6. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the influencer-turned-musician, whose foray into music has been met with both skepticism and acclaim.

Musical ventures by TikTok stars often face scrutiny, and Rae’s 2021 debut single "Obsessed" was no exception, drawing harsh criticism that urged her to abandon singing. Yet, three years later, she silenced doubters with "Diet Pepsi," a track that earned widespread praise and landed on year-end best-of lists from heavyweights like Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork. Her follow-up single "Aquamarine" continued the momentum, garnering critical approval and even a remix by experimental artist Arca.

In 2025, Rae released "High Fashion" and "Headphones On," both met with enthusiasm. The latter, infused with trip-hop influences, has drawn comparisons to Björk, showcasing Rae’s evolving artistry. Describing "Addison" as a deeply personal project, Rae calls it a mirror reflecting her journey through despair and self-discovery. She views the album as a collection of work she’s genuinely proud of, crafted alongside “dream collaborators.” The album’s cover art, already shared with fans, hints at its introspective tone.

Beyond music, Rae has carved a path in acting. Her 2021 role in Netflix’s "He’s All That," a remake of the 1998 teen classic "She’s All That," drew mixed reviews but topped the platform’s viewership charts for the week of its release. She continued to build her acting resume with a part in the 2023 slasher "Thanksgiving," which grossed $46 million on a $15 million budget and earned critical praise. Looking ahead, Rae is set to appear in 2025’s comedic action flick "Animal Friends," alongside Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa, as well as a sequel to "Thanksgiving."
