Scream 7: Fan Theories and Potential Spoilers
Possible spoilers about the slasher "Scream 7" have been leaked. It has become known how exactly the killers from previous parts will return in the new film. Perhaps this will be a trick of a new advanced maniac in the Ghostface mask.
In "Scream 7" (hereinafter in the text spoilers of previous parts) the maniacs Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) from "Scream" (1996) and Roman Bridger (Scott Foley) from "Scream 3" (2000) will return. According to rumors, Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) is also back in action - Stu's partner. In the fifth and sixth "Screams" (2022, 2023), Billy returned in the hallucinations of his daughter Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera).
Stu and Roman seem to have died. Fans are building theories on how their return will be explained. There is an opinion that Stu survived the collision with Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and will appear quite alive. Roman may appear in Sidney's hallucinations. He is Sidney's half-brother, so his death especially strongly affected the heroine.
Insider Daniel Richtman wrote on social networks that there will be no "resurrections" or nightmares with killers. The return of past Ghostfaces will allegedly be associated with artificial intelligence (AI) and "Deepfake" technology. At the same time, the AI line will play a significant role in the plot.
How exactly AI will affect the plot, Richtman did not specify. Most likely, the new serial killer in the Ghostface mask will drive Sidney crazy with the help of AI. He will probably try to make Sidney believe that her enemies are alive and want to take revenge. That is, the main suspects will be programmers who are well versed in AI. However, the new villain may hide his fascination with the neural network.
In "Scream 7" the focus will be on Sidney's family. Her husband Mark Evans (Joel McHale, "Community") and daughter (Isabel May, "1883") will appear. Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and twins Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding) will also return. Among the new additions to the cast will be McKenna Grace ("Ghostbusters: Afterlife") and Celeste O'Connor ("Madame Web"). Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega will not continue to play sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter. Barrera was fired after pro-Palestinian statements, and Ortega left for the filming of season 2 of the series "Wednesday" (2022-present).
The director will be the author of the original "Scream" Kevin Williamson.
"Scream 7" will be released in theaters worldwide on February 27, 2026.
