Sophie Ellis-Bextor has gifted fans with her latest single, "Relentless Love" – a vibrant disco-funk track pulsing with energy and a euphoric chorus. This dancefloor-ready number is poised to feature on her forthcoming eighth studio album, which might see the light of day in 2025.

The song bears the creative imprint of Richard Jones, bassist of The Feeling and Ellis-Bextor’s husband. Speaking about the inspiration behind it, the singer shared:

“‘Relentless Love’ sprang from my fascination with amusement parks. Falling in love and riding fairground attractions stir up similar thrills – Ferris wheels and roller coasters can upend your sense of reality and flood you with adrenaline. They’re wild and unpredictable, yet they also shift your perspective, even if just for a fleeting moment. Plus, they’re a dreamy spot for a date… There’s a certain romance in taking a ride together and seeing where it sweeps you.”

"Relentless Love" marks Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s first release of 2025, though it’s likely the second single from her next album. Back in October 2024, she unveiled "Freedom of the Night," another teaser of what’s to come. While the album’s title remains under wraps, whispers suggest it could be called "The Invisible Line." However, Ellis-Bextor has hinted that this is merely a working title, and she plans to christen the record with an entirely different name.

The singer is currently riding a fresh wave of fame. Her 2001 classic "Murder on the Dancefloor" found new life in the 2023 film Saltburn, propelling it back into European charts and even breaking into the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. – a market where she’d previously flown under the radar. Seizing the moment, she performed over 100 shows in 2024, capitalizing on her resurgence.

Her most recent album to date, Hana, arrived in June 2023, setting the stage for this next chapter in her evolving career.
