IDA DUELUND - Yrsa & Odisa
Yrsa & Odisa constitute the next singles from Ida Duelund’s upcoming album Sibo - a celebration of poetry and fantasy in its purest form.
The two songs are driven by nylon guitar and understated vocals surrounded by Nils Gröndahl's processed violins, Duelund’s bowed double basses, and Rune Risager’s experimental electronic effects.
The mild and childlike vocals are in the center of both songs - however they ride through two very different instrumental landscapes. While Yrsa’s songwriting is a jovial, direct and friendly lotion for the ears, Odisa has the instruments cut up and sampled into a dark and eerie musical soundscape that pulls intricate threads to both old film composers like Angelo Badalamenti and modern day electronic processing.
Artwork and video are made by visual artist Maya SB, whose digital and uncanny look contributes to the surrealistic character of the work.
Like Duelund’s first single, Misi Miamo, Yrsa & Odisa is a modern day musical dadaism that softly suggests a gentle and fantastical alternative to definitive thinking.
