The Black Keys Unveil Euphoric Ballad «Babygirl»
The Black Keys have rolled out «Babygirl,» a jubilant love tune that sweeps listeners off their feet. Anchored by a catchy piano riff, the track feels like a nod to the band’s roots while echoing the vibe of The Arcs, frontman Dan Auerbach’s side gig.
Teaming up with Daniel Tashian—known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Jonas Brothers—and hitmaker Scott Storch, who’s shaped tracks for Beyoncé and 50 Cent, the duo crafted something special. Reflecting on the collaboration, The Black Keys shared: “We’ve been blown away by Scott’s creative spark for years. Watching him dive into our stash of vintage keys in the studio was pure gold—he’s one of the best.”
«Babygirl» marks the second peek at their upcoming 13th album, No Rain, No Flowers, set to land in 2025. While the exact drop date remains under wraps, their tour kicks off May 23, hinting at a release sometime in the first half of the year—maybe even before summer blooms.
Hot on the heels of their February 7 single «The Night Before,» co-written with Tashian and climbing to No. 41 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, «Babygirl» ups the ante. Their last outing, Ohio Players (April 2024), featured Beck, Noel Gallagher, and Juicy J. Though it peaked at a modest No. 26 on the Billboard 200, critics gave it a warm nod, and its standout «Beautiful People (Stay High)」 snagged two Grammy nods: Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
