J-Hope of BTS Drops «Mona Lisa» Video with Electrifying Choreography
J-Hope of BTS, born Jung Hoseok, has unveiled his latest track «Mona Lisa» alongside a captivating music video. The clip puts his dance prowess front and center—a talent he honed long before joining BTS as a celebrated dancer.
A press release hails «Mona Lisa» as a blend of «soft, effortless charm», broadening J-Hope’s musical palette and cementing his place among the world’s most vibrant and sought-after performers.
Sonically, «Mona Lisa» fuses hip-hop with R&B, with production credits including renowned Norwegian DJ Cashmere Cat. In the lyrics, J-Hope likens his beloved to the Mona Lisa of Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, celebrating not just outward beauty but the quirks and qualities that make someone truly unique.
This marks J-Hope’s second solo single of 2025. Just weeks ago, in early March, he dropped «Sweet Dreams», a collaboration with R&B artist Miguel that soared to number 16 on the Billboard Global 200. February also saw him featured on Don Toliver’s «LV Bag» alongside Pharrell Williams.
Since BTS took a hiatus in 2022, J-Hope has kept busy with solo ventures, releasing the album «Jack in the Box» (2022) and the mini-album «Hope on the Street Vol. 1» (2024). While most of the group is currently serving in the military—with a return slated for June—J-Hope completed his service in the fall of 2024. His recent output suggests another solo project might be on the horizon. Meanwhile, bandmate Jin, discharged in the summer of 2024, starred in the upcoming Netflix series «Kian’s Bizarre B&B», set for an April release, and launched his own mini-album «Happy» in November.
